Consultancy: I visit your house/site to discuss your ideas and the potential for your garden. We can discuss landscaping ideas that are exciting, individual and practical. You can expect clear advice and explanations. Costs can be discussed for landscaping work; you don't want to spend too little by scrimping but also you don't want to over-capitalise. This is a good opportunity to bounce ideas around.
If you want specific advice on a potential project then please get in contact. Initial consultation on site is from $150 /hour, minimum charge one hour. Payment on completion of consultation. After the consultation I can send you a quotation for design work if you wish.
Garden design is about assembling complementary materials and plants together to form a practical and aesthetic result that is critically admired and enjoyed by you, your family and friends. In other words, it functions and looks good.
There is ample opportunity for the exchange of ideas in the design process. One of my key tasks is to find out what you like and dislike. I am experienced in analysing sites and noting their good points as well as their weaknesses, and what can be achieved at an aesthetic level but always considering the practical.

Construction is quoted separately from design work. I now only construct my own designs and not other designers. All my construction work comes under the Home Building Contracts Act 1991. This ensures piece of mind for you, the home owner.
